Better hiring choices will also result from improved management control. Workers who are a better match to the company environment will be more productive, possibly making suggestions that could better streamline operations. Happier workers will make for more productive workers, who will be more likely to be promoted into the company management. Better management productivity will also result in getting more done in less time, thus reducing overtime work hours and lowering labor expenses.

Applying a consistent program with the goal of improved management productivity and control should bring a gradual decrease in business expenses and a corresponding rise in company profits. When trying to improve management productivity, it is important that everyone keep a time log as a way to keep track of important projects and goals. Many office managers think they know where their time goes, but they are often surprised when they start keeping a time log.

Keeping a time log is often regarded as a tedious boring chore, but time logs actually work. Just the action of starting a time log can be an efficiency booster, as many people who suspected they were wasting their time are confronted with the fact that, yes, they definitely are. Staring at a time log in black and white, online or on paper, may be enough to force people to confront bad habits that need changing.
